Genoa: what’s on July 19, 2001, 5 p.m., migrant’s demonstration. Concentration point, piazza Sarzano in the upper part of the old town. Ending in piazza Giusti, behind Brignole railway station. July 20, general strike against G8: 2 p.m. meeting point for demonstration in piazza Montano, in front of Sampierdarena railway station (west part of Genoa). The run is still to be confirmed. July 21, 2 p.m., international demonstration. Starting in via Caprera, far eastern part of the town, quarter of Sturla. Conclusion in piazza G. Ferraris, Marassi, near the stadium.
Practical info In Csoa Pinelli you will find: Information, food, w.c., showers and a limited number of sleeping places (100/200 in tent or sleeping-bag). At a short distance from csoa Pinelli are two football fields with services that are part of what GSF contracted with local authorities. Csoa Pinelli (ph. 010 835 26 68) is at n. 3 of via P. Pinelli (formerly 9b of via Adamoli), north-east Genoa, quarter of Molassana, by the municipal kennel and sporting grounds Sciorda. The nearest railway station is Brignole (supposed to be unavailable for passengers between July 17 and 22). Buses from Brignole station: 12, direction via Turati 12 barred, direction piazzale Kennedy 14, direction via Dante Get off in via Piacenza, near the IP gasoline pump, than cross the bridge. Via Pinelli (formerly Adamoli) is on the opposite bank. By car: exit Genova Est (if open). Once out of the toll station (Staglieno), cross the river Bisagno and turn left, towards the mountains, direction Piacenza. 150 meters after the Coop supermarket, just when the road starts being two-ways, on your right you find via Pinelli (form. Adamoli). In case Genova Est is closed, exit Genova Nervi, on via Aurelia turn right following the indication of “Stadio” or Marassi. As soon as you catch the indication to Piacenza, follow it heading for the mountains, and you will find yourself on the left bank of the river Bisagno (see above).
