E' di due morti il bilancio delle vittime dei gravi scontri avvenuti oggi a Biddu in Cisgiordania. Gli incidenti tra la Guardia di frontiera e dimostranti sono il risultato della protesta contro la costruzione del Muro di separazione. Fonti mediche hanno precisato che l'anziano dato per morto e' invece ancora ricoverato in condizioni gravi mentre sono decine i dimostranti feriti. Due palestinesi sono stati uccisi giovedì mattina dai soldati israeliani mentre manifestavano in Cisgiordania contro la costruzione del muro tra Israele e i Territori palestinesi,

Mahammad Rayan, di 25 anni, è stato ucciso da un proiettile sparatogli alla schiena durante la protesta nel villaggio di Biddo, a pochi chilometri da Gerusalemme. Un altro giovane palestinese, il ventottenne Zakaria Eid, è stato invece mortalmente colpito in pieno petto da una fucilata ed è morto nell’ambulatorio medico della cittadina.

Altri dieci palestinesi sono stati feriti, quando i militari israeliani hanno iniziato a sparare contro i circa duemila manifestanti.

Poche ore prima, a Gaza, due palestinesi e un israeliano erano rimasti uccisi nel corso di un violento scontro a fuoco al valico di Erez, sul confine tra il settore nord della Striscia di Gaza e Israele. Lo hanno reso noto fonti dell'Esercito e dei servizi di sicurezza d'Israele, secondo cui i palestinesi, muniti di armi automatiche e bombe a mano, avevano attaccato un gruppo di soldati e di civili che si trovavano sul valico, ferendo almeno tre persone; un militare è rimasto ferito in modo gravissimo ed è deceduto poco dopo. Le truppe incaricate della vigilanza alla frontiera hanno immediatamente risposto, uccidendo i due aggressori sul posto. Il valico, attraverso cui transitano ogni giorno migliaia di palestinesi che vanno a lavorare in Israele, è stato chiuso.

L'attacco è stato rivendicato dalle Brigate dei Martiri di al-Aqsa, braccio armato di al-Fatah, la principale fazione in seno all'Olp di cui è capo lo stesso presidente palestinese Yasser Arafat: militanti del gruppo ultra-radicale, confusi nella calca, hanno infatti annunciato mediante i megafoni che autori dell'assalto erano stati due loro compagni.

Il mese scorso, sempre a Erez, una kamikaze appartenente ad Hamas si era fatta saltare in aria, uccidendo tre soldati di Tel Aviv e un agente della sicurezza. Da allora i controlli sono stati pesantemente inaspriti, obbligando i lavoratori palestinesi a sottoporsi a code estenuanti che iniziano già nel cuore della notte, per concludersi spesso con il diniego dell'ingresso. Per tale ragione qualche giorno fa i pendolari hanno anche inscenato una massiccia manifestazione di protesta, dopo che un loro collega era morto in mezzo alla folla, colto da infarto per la tensione e la fatica.
